cylinder head dowel pins.

i've been having trouble trying to find the dowel pins that go in the cylinder head on my 1977 750 hondamatic. i went to my local vintage cycle shop and they were able to find a couple off a bike of another make which were only one millimeter longer than the original dowel pins that were in my bike. the question is, will these two from the other bike work in my engine or am i screwed?

You can always grind or file them down to the correct length as long as the diameter is correct.
