As I was riding my 1980 CB750K on Sunday the bolt that holds the stabilizer to the rear hub decided to evaporate, or at least that's what I think happened. I was on the highway going about 60-70 mph and all of a sudden I felt something snap and the bike went all wonky. Luckily I was able to gain control and get off the road without biting pavement. While pulling over I noticed I had no back brakes. Upon inspection I found that the rear hub had separated from the stabilizer bar and spun about 200 degrees. In the process it had snapped off the brake linkage and bent the right side tension adjuster rending both unusable. Has anyone else experienced something like this before and do you have any advise? I am worried that the internals for the rear breaks may be damaged and won't be safe to use after I replace the brake linkage and tensioner. I can post pictures later tonight if anyone is interested.
This is my first bike, first riding season, and first post.
Thanks!
