reconditioning carb intake boots

So I've heard of a few people using a mixture of I think boiled linseed oil and something else has anyone used or heard of this process to help soften up intake boots?

I just let mine boil slowly for an hour or so to get 'em warm enough to soften up a bit. Nothing but water in the pot. Worked out fine. Otherwise I think wintergreen is what is used to boil rubber parts in. Someone else might verify this..

Heated tranny oil or room temp? Because I have a ton of that stuff laying around

room temp just set them in it and keep your eye one it and feel them ten minutes or so

just shag the old ladies blow drier, warm them up, and install them

I just boiled mine in water for a little bit and it worked out great.

Yeah, I've always heard guys boil them in wintergreen & water, but just a few moments with the old hair dryer seems to work just fine for me.

So what is this wintergreen stuff your talking about is it an oil of some sort and where would I get it?

Never used it but here's some info on wintergreen oil. Seems like any Walgreens should have it.
