79 CB750 - Starting issues, carburettor?

I think I might just take it to someone
I couldn’t get it idling well enough to even try and test for vacuum leaks, I checked the boots, they all looked good, I even got the carbs onto the boots super snug

Feeling pretty defeated today haha

I know that feeling. Been there recently with another bike.
Take a break from it. Next time you test for air leaks, keep the bike idling high enough to run.
By the way, 68 is the stock pilot size. Did you say yours has 75? That's a couple sizes too big, if so.

I changed the pilot back also, think I will have a break, from the carbs at least anyway

Check your messages. I located you an airbox in Sydney Australia that will fit your bike. He has CB900 parts but many including the airbox are the same. Should be an easy drive from where you are.
Can I jump in and ask…are the CB750 (1979) and CB900 (1980) air boxes the same/ compatible?
