What is this and is it burnt out??

This is the two piece silver part above the battery but under the seat. It looks toasted but I can't tell if that's just how they look or what.
It's from a 1980 CB750f Super Sport
Any help is appreciated.

Those are the ignition modules. If it runs then no they are not toasted.

LOL, when I got my V45 Sabre 30 years ago they were mounted on top of the rear fender, I asked my dad what they were. He said Gonads.
