Took my stator cover off the other today to inspect and see how things were looking down there. I was very surprised to find it fairly rusty. I was wondering what the best way would be to get this off or if I should just leave it?
I just cleaned mine up today with emery cloth and sprayed wd40 on it to keep it from rusting while I finish the rest of it. So long as the rotor tests above 4.0 ohms I wouldn't worry, especially if you don't have a charging problem.
