I bought a 78 cb750f ss about a year ago, with plans to do a tear down and restoration.

I have torn down the top end to the rods, and now after cleaning everything and buying an assortment of new parts, I have started the process of putting back together. When I was cleaning the cyclinder studs, I noticed some weird rubbery seal things on the bottom of a few of the studs, which would have been inbetween the crankcase and the cylinder. I looked in my gasket kit, my seal kit, and everyhting else I have. Im not sure if i'm completely missing something obvious but I cannot figure out what these things are. I have looked through all of the diagrams of this engine and watched any videos I can find that include the parts i'm talking about. These things are nowhere. As far as I can tell there should be 2 dowels, and 2 o-rings. And those should be the only things on the studs between the crankcase and cylinder. If anybody knows what these are I would really appreciate the knowledge. Cheers 🍻

Hopefully im being dumb! Pictures of it on the stud and one torn off of the stud

They might be o-rings. I've seen o-rings in rebuild kits before but not all of them.

On the F motor they changed around some oil return passages from the K. If you look on the front of the cylinder there are a couple of studs exposed...and you can get water etc into the crankcase. I believe these are the orings 91301-410-000. The parts diagram shows them on 4 cylinder studs

Could you send me that diagram?

Just look up the parts diagram for your bike on any honda site. I just picked a random oem honda parts site and looked up on the parts fiche.

A couple bike channels on YouTube (too bad they aren't on rumble) have broken an engine down to where you are. I watched one recently from Classic Octane. Give those a watch. You'll likely pick up some good tips, too.

Yeah ok, I think I was looking at those thinking they were the two 91310-426-000, but those are on diagrams of the crankcase, I appreciate it!
