Hi,
I have an 81 cb750c with air assisted forks. I just had the forks resealed so I had to take the front end, obviously including the axle, apart. Upon putting it together however, I cant find any torque spec for the front axle with these forks. Every bit of information I have found has been for the non air assisted forks which have a completely different design to retain the axle. On the "normal" forks, the axle seems to be clamped in with C -shaped caps (like a camshaft or crankshaft bearing cap), but on the air assisted forks their are no caps. The axle slides through an eyelet on the right fork, and then threads directly into an eyelet on the left fork. I currently have it torqued to 30lb-ft but being that the forks are aluminum I didnt want to go any further until I find an actual specification.
