Still haven't installed this tank yet, but the CB750 will be going on the table this week.

Agenda:

Change rear swingarm with a CB550 one.
Change front forks with CB550 set.
Try my hand again at polishing some pieces.
Will try to do some rewiring to clean up the rats nest in the headlight.
And a new Delkevic exhaust, along with new spigots and clamps. (just hope the screws for the spigots don't give me a hard time

If I can get to it.......the shop called and finally after 2 years, the head for the frankenbike CB/CL/SL350 twin is ready.
Been messing with this thing a few years or more.

On the table and tear down has begun.

Considering putting the rear fender and bar back on.

Bushings are a mudder getting out, will be installing brass(bronze) ones.

I want to tap the zerks and install SAE style, but may just stay the the weird ones.

Got the swingarm changed out. Easy peasy......new 530 o-ring chain was a pita.

Finally there. Still trying to make up my mind about the rear fender, and tail light.

Then on to the front fork exchange.

I'm not up to date on swapping part with a 550; what's the advantage here? Are we shortening the wheel base, going for the Cafe look or does the 550 have a better design?

Thanks,

The 550 swingarm is tubular shaped as the frame.
Is slightly longer, allowing the rear to be a bit lower.
750 has a stamped shape.

Ok....rear swingarm exchange done wrapped up.
Still wrestling with the rear fender and light(s).

Now onto the front forks. Wanting to polish the front fork legs. Not sure...lot of work.

We'll see.
