Header installation

I'm installing the header on my 1981-honda-cb750c but it's extremely loose. I even replaced the crushed gaskets and the header is still loose. I'm beginning to think the engine isn't a 750c based on the engine serial number. Can anyone identify the serial number for me? Or give me a link to a website so I can identify it? Please and thank you.

You have 2 threads going on the same subject. I asked on your other thread what brand of header are you using? Some aftermarket headers have short flanges so stock collars won't work. The picture you showed had everything bottomed out. Are the collars you have facing the right way? Show us a picture of the flange that fits into the head. The serial number you have is for an '81 engine.

Looks to me like the two half moon shaped pieces are in backwards
