CB750 Addict
Am starting Nov 10 on a 1978 cb750 cafe project. just stuff on hand in the shop to install. I will post a pic. Lets see what you can build. All used parts in major construction. Bling is up to you, but its not a dollar bill contest, as there doesnt seem to be a prize yet.
HOWEVER. I do have the address of a production company looking to make a reality series, i will run the "homegrown" contest off them once just for giggles.
Rules.
1 The motor vehicle must be 100 percent safe to operate. brakes must meet or exceed date of manufacture front and rear.
2 custom paint is prohibited. Owner/builder must "rattlecan" the bike himself. you can repaint it after the contest.
3 The motorcycle itself must be able to operate even if less lighting and gauges and be entirely repurposed.
4 lighting and gauges are up to the builder, and can be new but will not be considered as part of the build. even if not installed.
5 NO Comercial Chroming of any part is allowed. Used Chrome parts are acceptable. Home plating such as nickel accepted. must prove it.
If you have a project in mind and want to play along, get your pic of a bare frame, complete bike, or roller with the serial number in plain view.
If you have a runner, and want to refurbish it, it must be taken completly apart, and the rattlecan rule applies.
A photo must be taken of every days labor.
black motor with early carbs. stock 78 tank. "shaved bare frame look" Thats my theme.
I have some real neat goodies to chose from already, so if anyone wants to do a Till March 1st build off, all ya need is a bike, a plan and a camera.
And one more issue. Everyone helps everyone on technical questions. In a single seperate thread.
Lets not plug the bandwidth here, All replies start here, and the new contest thread will launch Nov 10 depending.
I will not cut anything until then.
If nobody wants to play i will build mine anyway. Winter is for building.
