Hi Folks,

I'm new here and with a new bike, but I hope I still qualify to chat and hang out with you all.
Would any of you be able to help me with the torque setting for a 2023/4 CB750A Hornet rear axle? I'm keen to get involved in my bike's maintenance (in this instance to tighten the chain) but I want to do it right, and for whatever reason Honda doesn't include this in the manual. (I'm sure there's a good reason but I can't think of it!)

I'm also looking to get a copy of the shop manual to help me out in the future so if anyone has any advice on how best to acquire one I'd be grateful for that too. I see a couple online but they are really expensive and I don't recognise the retailers. I'm in the UK if that helps.

Anyway, nice to meet you all! Thanks in advance :)

98nm or 72 ft lbs for rear axle torque. You won't find much information on this site for your bike. Not sure if the aftermarket manuals are out for your bike but you could probably get one from the dealer.

Oh mate, I appreciate it, thank you - I've been looking all over!

No aftermarket manuals are out yet, just the shop manual and they're tricky to get hold of as dealers aren't 'officially' selling them.

I figured that this website leans more toward classic bikes but I'll stick around because I'm sure to learn something. Thank you

Just came back to update this post in case it's useful for anyone in the future - my manual has finally arrived in the post!

88n.m / 65 ft-lbs is the rear axel nut torque setting recommended by Honda.

Hi Buzzing.
I have a similar problem whith my Hornet.
I need the tightening torque of these two screws to install some Frame Sliders.
Can you confirm if your manual says 54 NM?
Thanks

Hi Square,

Apologies for the late reply.

They look to be 44 N.m

All the best,

Thanks Buzzing.
Your response has been helpful, and quick.
Now I have another problem: the manufacturer of the slider does not match the manufacturer of the bike.

I liked the detail of your shop Manual. I would be willing to pay for a digital copy.

Hey Square,

I would use 44 N.m as Puig says to default to Honda's specification, and Honda says 44.

I also wish I could get a digital copy of the manual, but I believe only physical copies are available.
I purchased mine from here:

Thanks,

Thanks Buzzing, I didn't know that web, it have price more reasonable than Ebay.
Thanks for your time.

I correct the above, the shipping price is abusive.

I don't understand this big difference, I live near Barcelona.
I think I will send it to London, my daughter is going to visit some museums this September and she can bring it back.

Buzzing, one question.
Have you tried accessing the radiator cap?
It is really complicated.
Look what I found myself, under the fairing.

The rain insulation of these connectors seems poor to me.

I hate sellers like that. When I was looking for a tank for my '79, I ended up buying one in Canada (I'm in the US) with cheaper shipping than sellers much closer to me. Heck, even the member here from the UK that I talked to about his tank had cheaper shipping than some of the US sellers.
