pretty simple really. I used 1980 fork tubes, and all in 72 triple tree, went right in. rear wheel, I used sprocket carrier, axle, and right spacer from 72, wheel, left spacer, brake panel from 1980. Fit right in. nice fat 17 inch tire on it too. 1980 Forks are longer, and this one had a pretty large tire in good shape on it. the 72 café is progressing.
74 build begins this week.
Place is filling up with Goldwings fast.
 
Dohc fork is right about 1" longer. I have been using the 80 front end on my hardtail. Better fork and the brake caliper setup is much better over the sohc setup. The wheels are a bit lighter too.
