1980 CB750 K idle adjustment

What’s up with the idle adjustment on the 750’s ? I know the book says adjust at operating temperature but Man oh Man is it hard to keep from burning the snot out yourself!! I have large hands and they hardly fit in the hole you need to reach into and turn the knob. I have scare’s from adjusting mine. Please someone tell me there is a better way than grinning and baring it. Surely with the wealth of knowledge on this site someone has a better idea..
Sometimes I think it’s the Japanese revenge!

Lol. First things first, if your valves are out of spec or carbs need to be sync'd, do that first. When I adjust mine I use work gloves. They can withstand the heat long enough to turn the knob a bit. I have a couple scars, too!
