Tank Help

I’m new to this Forum and new to the CB750 game. I just bought a 72 and the bike had a little peanut tank on it, but I got a 76 with it (the one with the flap). So my question is will this tank work on the bike as a summer time fix until I find one with the appropriate year. There also isn’t much I know about this bike so all information will be helpful.
