I just emptied the oil on my bike today and found tons of small metal shavings. Does this look like a problematic amount?

I've always been on the lookout for metal in the oil. Curious to hear from others, too.

Small glitter - did you do any mechanical work recently - like a clutch??

miles on engine??

primary chain or OHV chain loose??

put in fresh oil run it for 200 miles and check oil again.

No large pieces - not a problem.

Really? Small pieces not a problem? I don't have experience with this, so I would have been concerned.

The bike’s been sitting for a long time. From what I can tell, the chain was pretty loose. I’ll get it running and then go from there. Thank you!
