Let's see your CB750

The 73 was my first bike back in the early 80s and my first true love. I got her back a few years ago and got her running last winter. Now she has new rubber and the cases are cleaned up.
The 71 I just picked up two weeks ago with the idea of going Cafe but it's just too clean and all there to start cutting. The fairing and sissy bar are available if anyone wants them.

Not sure if I can get this photo attached from my iPad but I'll try. It's a 1980 CB750 Custom and I love riding it. There is a little power issue at the moment as I think there might be a compression problem. Cylinder 1 has black residue leaking slowly from the valve cover and it needs a little TLC this winter. Love how it sounds though - deep and growlly.

New to the thread! Also new to bike building! Been in love with cafe's for lots of years! My brother and I have a love for European bikes!20131108_163825.jpg20131108_163830.jpg20131108_163837.jpg20131112_204514.jpg20131112_204523.jpg20131112_204543.jpg

I put a battery to the 71 the other night and got plenty of love from everything but the turnsignals. The switch harness was cut for a relocation kit by the PO and had a short in it but tonight I'll solder it all back together and have it back the way it should be. The next big hurdle is getting all the crud out of the tank. Otherwise she is looking pretty nice.

Thanks Dan, I thought this one looked the same as your "Money Pit".

She is still sporting original paint. I just gave it a little elbow grease.

New to site - my project

Wish I had found this site earlier. Lots of great bikes and great ideas. It's been 20+ years since I sold my 550 and I always wanted a Super Sport. I found this grundgy but original one recently. So far I have lowered the gauge pack, put on shortie shocks, drag bar, shortened the seat pan, and done a ton of cleaning. Not sure what's next. Gonna let if "evolve" in my head over the winter.

Alright.
I'm at the tire stage. I'm kinda ok putting the old Avon Speedmaster series back on there but would like to go with something a little sportier but still keep them close to period.
I'm kinda thinking about the Dunlop K81, they are a little wider in the back (.25) I really don't see that there would be any interference with the wider tire but would like the input from others.

I put Brigestone raised whites on the 73 and they look great but the all original 71 just doesn't seem right with them on it.

Man that paint looks great for the year Vicman, I had paint and dent problems fixed the surface and reprimed and had the paint computer matched and sprayed it and clearcoated. I laced a 16 inch rim on the rear so You should not have problems with a wider tire, I have plenty of swingarm space with the bigger tire. Again good looking bike.
