New to the forum! After considerable Google-Foo, just need some verification on CB750K model years.
I'm communicating with a widow trying to sell her husband's beloved CB750K. Pics in her ad are poor, but I see 750K on side cover. She lists bike as 1984 (and says it's either 1983 or 1984). My research says Honda stopped producing the CB750K in 1982 (last model year 1982) for US market, correct? Also that 1979-1982 CB750K was DOHC and prior SOHC, right?
She says she will look at title, provide VIN, fame and engine #'s once she gets off work, so not too worried. I just need this info before I get a trailer and drive 4 hours (8 hours round trip) for bike. It appears to be pristine and have VERY low mileage and 1 owner, pretty rare.
Note: This is a bit nostalgic for me. At 16 (this will give away my age), my 2nd bike was a 1971 CB750K, 3rd bike was a new 1978 CB750K, next was 1980 CB900C, then after a about 10-12 year break, a 2005 Yamaha FJR1300. Now I'm older and have lost my mind and am on my 3rd Harley, a 2009 FLHX Street Glide. I look forward to helping 22 year old son with a mild cafe build from the CB750 platform. Be fun to work on after having one of the early models!
Thanks for helping me verify year and model!
