    Exhaust Dragging in Corners

If you are asking about the pre-load setting on the springs, I haven't changed that, don't have the tool to do so. Looked at the mounts on my bike and it looks like these will do the trick: http://www.dimecitycycles.com/14-5-inch-black-eye-to-clevis-rear-motorcycle-shock-absorbers.html...

    Exhaust Dragging in Corners

    Exhaust Dragging in Corners

When I turn tightly I drag exhaust where the 4 combine into 2. I'm a big guy and suspect it may have something to do with my rear suspension, and/or needing to adjust how the exhaust hangs... Any suggestions?

1997 Honda CB750 F2 in need of help and guidance on how to disassemble

How I learned... I grabbed a spanner and started removing bits at a time. Seriously you don't give us any idea what condition the bike is in, does it run at all, does it turn over, does the electric work, etc, etc... what's your comfort level with mechanical tasks? I'm the sort that can look...

    Stock Air Box Help

Ironically I had one of these bolts sieze up to the point I couldn't get it apart last night. Even tried cutting a slot in the nut end so I could hold it in place with a screwdriver but still couldn't get it to budge. Currently my airbox is held together with zip ties, the grooves guide them...

    Fork Oil

Mine was easy, remove the caps with a crescent wrench, remove the drain plugs with a 10mm wrench, work the forks til the oil (sludge) stops coming out... I removed the springs and wiped them down, replaced and added the new oil. The caps were under slight spring tension even with the front...

    Fork Oil

I used 10W30, manual said to use that or tranny fluid. I also used 1oz of Marvels Mystery Oil in hopes of de-gunking some of the gunk. Plans are to drain/refill in about a month.

    Fork Oil

So I drained the fork oil last night and replaced it... The manual said 6.5oz each fork, I got just barely over 6oz out of both of them. The bike rides WAY different now! As a side note, the wife wasn't overly pleased that I used her measuring cup... apparently it's now my measuring cup, and...

    Bleeder Valve

To clarify I don't get squat out of the bleeder unless I squeeze it. The flow comes when I remove the bleeder entirely. Replaced it tonight, dealership have me the wrong part first try.

    Bleeder Valve

When I remove said bleeder brake fluid flows out... is that indicative of a problem?

    Bleeder Valve

The old ones busy keeping the brake fluid in... I guess I can have my wife hold her thumb on the hole while I run to the store ;).

    Bleeder Valve

While working on my brakes I discovered the bleeder valve was mostly stripped. I ordered a replacement from my local honda shop and when I went to replace it, I found the one they gave me was too big! They both fit an 8mm wrench but the threaded portion of the replacement was 1-2mm bigger than...

    Define 'Good Brakes'?

So when I got my 78 CB750K the front brakes didn't have any juice in them, there was a rag tied around the master cylinder, and when I asked the PO why he said it was to stop brake fluid from getting on his dress pants... Since then I've torn the whole 9 yards down and built it back up. I...

    Is this CB750 worth $500?

I'd buy it for $500, as mentioned you could part it out for much more. Looks cleaner than my $500 CB750K8, but mine wasn't frozen up.

    Gas puddle under bike...

Number 3 still leaks, I replaced the fuel cock and this problem has gone away as long as I remember to turn off the fuel.

    Rebuilding Master Cylinder

None of the snap ring pliers I could find would do the job, I was able to get the clip out with a few assorted picks, one started straight and now has a nice useful S curve on the end... Rebuilt the master cylinder and replaced the seal on the caliper along with new brake pads and the stopping...

    Gas puddle under bike...

Pulled the carbs and the bowls and hosed everything down with carb cleaner. Didn't remove the floats but they all look fine (not rotted, not dry or cracked, etc) and move freely. There was a substantial amount of gunk in the bowls, both loose and stuck on. Picked up new hose to replace the...

    Turn Indicator Switch Question

The nudge/switch makes sense, I had noticed that but thought it was an old squishy switch not a feature. I have no idea if they are stock indicators :), pictures are here. Oddly enough the right side now flashes, the left does not... I haven't changed anything other than riding it a little.

    Solenoid jump to start, WHY?

I need to clean my neutral switch apparently :), that green light gets old. The Solenoid has 2 places 12V should reach it, obviously one of the big nuts on top will have 12V, and when you cross that to the other one your bike cranks over... The other place is the line from your main fuse, that...

    Turn Indicator Switch Question

So going through the things that aren't working right on my 1978 CB750 I found that the turn signals don't blink. I assume this has something to do with the relay either being bad or the bulbs not drawing enough juice, I have a few things to try to fix it... but I was looking at the wiring...

    Solenoid jump to start, WHY?

Will it start if you hold the clutch in? And have you checked to see if you get 12V to the solenoid when you hit the start button? If so, you have a bad (albiet new) Solenoid.

    Rebuilding Master Cylinder

While I'm asking questions, can you validate my thoughts on why I'm rebuilding the master cylinder... The front brakes are working and I've bled them until no more air bubbles come out, but despite my best efforts they remain squishy. I suspect the master cylinder has a bad seal somewhere in...

    Rebuilding Master Cylinder

    Rebuilding Master Cylinder

Are there any guides or advice for how to rebuild my master cylinder? I was looking at it today and couldn't figure out how the heck I'm supposed to get it apart... Special tools needed or something? Thanks,

    Gas puddle under bike...

So I look out this morning and there's a gas puddle under my bike. My first thought was I failed to turn off the petcock again, but upon inspection this was not the case. As I was looking over the bike I saw a stream of fuel start coming out of one of the hoses that drain from the carbs...
