I guess it was emissions rules and they didn't want anybody messing with carbs (well, that worked!). As far as I can find out here, the K8 here had a different PD carb and needles were fixed, but the PD41s on K7s have five grooves.

Hi gurus. I have a 77 police model - CB750P7. The carbs are PD41As and the stock main jet size was 115. Can anybody tell me where the needle clip should be set for stock please? Nothing in the manuals is conclusive. I'm certain the carbs had never been apart until I rebuilt them and the clips...

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, the other discs with changed grooves are the correct type (ie not B). It makes sense that the grooves go the same way for sure. Looks like it must be an improvement, or certainly no worse, as these guys have been selling them for a while with no apparent problems.

I've got a new set of discs to install (ex-UK) and see some differences to what I removed. The outer disc (B?) has the angled grooves and that is the same as my original and is what the manual shows. Thanks hotdog; lots of good stuff in there. As for my question, the answer in that thread seems to be the opposite: don't worry about the knock pins and rubbers. So now I'm less sure. Might toss a coin.

Hi. I've got a K7 with Keihin PD41 carbs. The float valves are all leaking very slightly, but it's not from the valve seat, it's around the outside of the valve where it fits into the body. I've taken the carbs off and can see a slight weep around the outside. I can't see replacement assemblies...

I'm about to put the cases from my K7 engine back together but can't find the torque for the smaller bolts. The manual shows the ten larger bolts that straddle the crank at 16.6-18.1 ft-lbs, but there is nothing stated for the other, smaller lower and upper case bolts. Can anybody advise please? g

Thanks again. Understand what you are saying about the shafts. The engine paint is an aluminium colour and is flaking off everywhere. I thought getting it back to bare metal with a vapour blast etc might be the way to go.
