Looking for a factory airbox with boots to go with it. Or similar spec aftermarket one without breaking the bank.
1979 DOHC
Any help is appreciated
Based in Aus

Cheers

In Aus, I think you have some salvage yards, right? Bikes that are available to take parts from? You might try ebay, too.

We do, there is one local but there’s no bikes unfortunately. I’ll have to do some research on other places in the greater area.
I went past a bike repair shop yesterday, the guy laughed at me when I asked

I seen one on eBay that looked okay, was having trouble finding boots though

there are some boots on ebay from china for about 20 aus$ for each one and free postage, don't know what they will be like though. i had loads of trouble getting both sets for my 1979 but luckily at great expense i got some from japan but that was 4 years ago

Cb750supply and vintagecb750 might have something. I've heard bad things about those cheap Chinese boots not fitting properly, etc.

2 questions

Is this the correct airbox for a 1979?

Is the condition okay for testing purposes?

I’m not actually 100% sure, but I had a look at the carburettor identifier sheet and the carb I have is from a 1979F
Look on the front of the frame between the triple clamps for the VIN sticker that has the year and serial number. It should also have on the bottom left CB750f or k or c etc.

That did occur to me after I posted the last comment 🤔, unfortunately the bike doesn’t live with me but I’ll see if I can have a look today
Hold tight on buying something till tomorrow. I know a guy that has a large collection of mostly SOHC stuff but he does have some twin cam parts as well. I will go to his place tomorrow to see what he has. His prices are usually quite reasonable plus it will be in Canadian funds so you would do better on the exchange. I will let you know what I find.
