Was wondering if anyone had experience with applying for a bonded title. What I've gathered so far is I have to physically take it to get a Auto Theft Task Force inspection and I also need an appraisal from an insurance adjuster or Texas Dealer

Not sure if this is a bit late,
I recently went through the process of getting a bonded title for a 1974 CB 750.
Yes I had to go to the Auto Theft Task Force and get a form from Law Enforcement. It went fine, although I was a bit worried. Then we had to go to a specific DPS office, the one I normally go to was not able to do bonded titles, There were smae bonding companies set up at the entrance that provided the bond and the evaluation. They never saw the bike, I believe they just go by bluebook.
It wasn't that bad, costs about $450 total.

I appreciate it. Yeah I found a old school shop that's willing to do the appraisal and I have an appointment with Auto Theft task force on July 23rd

They had big push back and recinded the titling requirements back to the original statute. Not sure about the out of state registration requirements.
