I looked at the service manual and it shows you are correct. I was looking T the schematic of the caliper wrong. It does say to use a little silicone grease just on the pads only.

Caliper piston won't retract after releasing brake lever. Only somewhat retractable leaves me with to much drag. New and shoes and reground disk. Loosed mountingbolts but still happens when applying brake. What makes piston retract?

Just changed my front brake pads and rotor resurfaced. My calperpiston won't retract very much upon release of brake lever so brake drags unless a loosen caliper mounting bolts. Help
