Engine bogs down in switching gears

Appreciate the help, yah I took them to get them synced a while back and been having problems now starting the bike and running right which leads me to believe they are not synced correctly. Getting them re-synced this weekend. Hopefully the idol trick with help!

Engine bogs down in switching gears

Was able to pull the plugs over the weekend. The two plugs on the electric side were black while the two plugs on the oil side were clean and looking great. Put some new plugs in and seems to run better but still doing the bogging and the popping. How do you adjust the idle circuits? Sorry for...

Engine bogs down in switching gears

Hey Dan, thanks for the reply. Fuel filter is running parallel with the tank before the drain tube connecting joint. Once I get it warmed up I will dial down the resting idle to 1200 R.P.M to see if that helps. It ran great last season, resting idle was around 1700 which is pretty high...

Engine bogs down in switching gears

Fun issue after cleaning up the bike over the winter. Put in new plugs, a fuel filter after the petcock, cleaned the carbs and recently took the bike to get the carbs synced. Bikes idling around 20000 to 17000 rpm after warmed up for 10 minutes. Go out for a ride bogging a little in first then...

    Crush Gasket Replacement

DD, thanks again for the help. The funny thing is the exhaust had two layers of crush gaskets from its former owner. Cleaned them all up and put a new set on with a little silicone. Another problem on the bike fixed.

    Crush Gasket Replacement

Real stupid question. If I put a new set in should I still use some high temp silicone to put the exhaust back in. Ended up ordering some new rings just in case. DD, thanks for saving me each time I have an issue. Hoping to be able to show you the final product soon enough.

    Crush Gasket Replacement

My Exhaust gaskets were recently replaced last year. I took my pipes off to do some exhaust rapping. Do I need to change my crush/exhaust gaskets each time I take my pipes off or since I changed them last year I should be ok? Thanks for the help!

Looking to see if any one has the electrical side form fitted rubber grommets for the side cover mounts? Or has created them from scratch. Thanks in advance!

    Wanted - Siide Covers for 75 CB750

Ended up getting side covers from fb-stuff. for some reason the electrical side one is not staying in which leads me to believe the mounting points on my bike dont have the correct orginal hard wear. Should there be rubber grommets in each mounting point?

    Best Vintage Tires

Thanks for the reply guys, I was looking at the Dunlop K70s, Coker E70P and Avon Speedmasters. Dirtdigger, I think based on what you are saying these all match the profile. I have Kenda Challengers on there now, dont think it is the best thing for it but dont think it is the worst either.

    Best Vintage Tires

I have read a lot of threads from the group with regards to tires. I know its totally up for the look and feel you want of your bike and price point. I was looking at more vintage tires, specifically the Vintage Firestone Deluxe Champion Tire. I have read some horrible reviews about if it rains...

Hey All, So far the CB site has saved me when it comes to making sure my engine is running right, where to find extra parts and how to fix almost anything. The one thing I dont think I can do is sync my crabs since I dont have the tools. The 75 CB750 rebuild from last year is running great but...

Oil Tank gets Super Hot When Riding

Thanks for your reply! Finally was able to check the oil heat. Oil heat after running for 25 min was at 170 and engine heat was 220- 230. So based on your last reply it sounds like the oil is the right temp unless that is hot for the engine. Looks like I will be getting a cover.

Oil Tank gets Super Hot When Riding

Hot enough that through pants its burning my leg and hot touch through leather gloves. I do mostly city riding, have the ideal little higher then normal and running 20 x 50 oil. That is the oil that was recommended by the former owner. Based on what you are describing the oil tank heating up...

Oil Tank gets Super Hot When Riding

A few months back I picked up at 750 and noticed the former owner set up a few things incorrectly. One being the oil hook up. The oil was set up correctly going into the engine but one of the overflow tubes was zip tied beneath the seat instead of being put into the back of the engine. I have...

    cb 750 oil overflow leaking

Go to work on it over the weekend! The small tube was zip tied under the seat. Hooked up everything correctly and now there is no more oil leak. Thanks again for your help! Now if I can fix the engine sounding like it is missing a beat I will be in good shape.

    cb 750 oil overflow leaking

Thanks for the reply! Will be looking to take the oil tank apart this weekend and will have find out where the smaller one is or if there is even one there right now. All I can see in regards to hoses on the back side is the big one from the pic that is leaking the oil. Hopefully by hooking up...

    cb 750 oil overflow leaking

Totally new to the forum but thought this would be the best place to figure out my issue with my CB750. My 1975 CB750 started to leak oil out of the overflow tube when riding. The oil is at the right level. When the engine is running the oil really doesnt drip out but as soon as you start...
