    Changing spark plug wires

I had to take my wires off to check continuety and found a neat trick. To put them back on the coils, undo the two bolts. Taking the rear one out completely and just loosen the front one and voila it swings out. Plenty of room to get the new ones on.

When I did my head on my 750 f. It finally came apart when I tapped a screwdriver between the separate sides of the head and cylinder and pried it up that way . Ruined the head gasket but it got the head off.

    Valve shim size

I did a top end rebuild on my bike. I had to go down to 260 or 265 thickness to get my shims to fit but it was worth the math I had to do. Just remember that the clearance is.002 to .005. Use the smallest shim in thickness to determine what thickness you need for each valve. It takes a bit but...

Nope timing is good but I have blow back through the carb so the valves are not sealing, so after thinking about the rebuild . I did not check the shim clearance. So I am waiting for the tool to get here and I will check all 16 shims. Probably will have to get some different shims. Still looking...

    Valve shims

I have a 1980 CB750F have spark and fuel plus it has the top end rebuilt. But it seems that it pushes air back through the carb before the intake stroke. Everything is pointing towards the valve shims. Just wondering if it is easy to change the shims while the engine is still in the frame...
