    +1 on the manual. Difficult to overstate the importance of having one. The factory manual is the gold standard and you can probably find a PDF online. If you prefer a physical book like I do Haynes manuals are pretty good. The Clymer ones suck.

    If you can't shift to neutral the clutch is dragging. Consult the manual and adjust the clutch before doing anything else. While thicker oil could conceivably cause dragging, it's more likely that the cable has stretched or that one of the other parts in the system has gone out of adjustment...

    Of course I gave away my mercury vials a few years ago. If I get lucky I might get away with the tool I have that does one at a time. I've done it with two. I saw a dial gauge balancer for $50 but I'm not dying to buy more tools.

    Bummer. Ages ago when I had a Suzuki you could get a stage 1 kit for airbox change, stage 2 for airbox and pipe, etc. It had jets, needles, and springs for your application.
