    Let's see your CB750

Its not a 750 but a CB900f is pretty close. When I bought it, and after a little photoshop work, where we are headed, paint is done, just need to put the motor back in the frame, do some electrical work and get the seat made.

Cam Timing Chain Replacement / Crimping a Hyvo Chain

I ended up taking the engine to a shop and had a technician crimp the chain for me. Cracking the case is no small job but the main thing is I just don't have the space to do the work myself. I inspected the crimped links and measured them with my micrometer and they meet specs. The width of the...

Cam Timing Chain Replacement / Crimping a Hyvo Chain

Not technically a master link. A master link chain inside the engine would be a terrible idea indeed. This is a just a chain with an open link that needs to be crimp the open link.

Exhaust Smokes After Sitting for a Couple of Days (Honda CB900F)

I have an issue with my bike smoking after sitting for a few days. If I don't ride my bike for about 4 days when I go to crank it up the exhaust will smoke for a good 3 min or so until the bike is warmed up. (Its a gray smoke not black.) However if I ride it back to back days I don't have this...

    Honda CB900F Smoke from Crankcase

I have an issues with my 1982 Honda CB900F. I rode it today through some slow traffic for about a half hour and noticed some some smoke coming from my crankcase. It seem that once the bike gets hot enough it begins to smoke from the crackcase emissions port. I have pod filters on the bike so the...

Charging Issue 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport

Yeah and a lit ion battery needs 13-14.5 range to charge. Looks like I've achieved those numbers

Charging Issue 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport

Actually I typed that wrong, I’ve got 12.9 volts at idle. Running strong. Just installed my new custom battery box for the lit ion battery

Charging Issue 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport

Just replaced the rotor last night and it works like a charm. At idle the bike is putting out 12.2 and quickly jumps up to 14 at around 3500. My new lithium Ion RR is capping the voltage @ 14.3. I’ve attached a pic of the old rotor. Looks like a cheap rebuild was the source of my troubles.

Charging Issue 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport

Thanks, that where my money is as well. I've got a new one coming in a couple of days, I think its a safe bet that its the source of the trouble, but I wanted to make sure since the rotor is relatively new and I thought I that I could be missing something. Hoping that's all it takes.

Charging Issue 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport

Hi I’ve got a 1982 Honda CB900F Super Sport a that is having charging issues (I also plan to switch to an antigravity lithium ion battery but currently I am still using a New Lead Acid Battery in the Bike) Currently at idle it only puts out 11.7-11.8Volts DC & @5000 just barley hits 13.1-13.5...
