what happens if..

I turned the crank bolt in the middle of the timing plate on my motor the wrong way(counter clockwise), now it won't turn the correct way very far before it stops, like its stuck..did I bind the cam chain? is this easy to rectify? or did I cause a more serious problem?. any words of wisdom would be much appreciated

If cam chain real loose and unlucky you can bend valves.
