This should be easy. It's time to replace the gas tank on my 1971 K1. I need to pull the badges from the old tank and place them on the new one. I think that the "Honda" tank badges are attached to the tank with two male prongs that are pushed into pinch clips. I imagine that the male tabs are easy to snap, if removal is not done correctly.
I plan to spray penetrating oil behind the badges and carefully pry them away from the tank with small, flat screw drivers or putty knives.
This seems like it could be easy, but it might be just as easy to destroy the badges by mistake. Does anyone have a better way?
