So today I bought a 1978 Honda CB750K. It has 3,725 original miles. I will be the 3rd owner. The person before me got very excited about restoring the bike. I'm not entirely sure it needed it, but that was his call. Anywho he crashed his BMW about a week ago, and got banged up. So he posts the bike on craigslist and I was the first person out, luckily. I bought it for $500, which i think might be a little high for a totally disassembled bike. But I would have wanted to strip it down myself to powder coat the frame, so i figured it was worth it. Long story short, im going through the list of things that need to be done in order to get it back in great shape. The rims have some surface rust. I figured at first just replacing them would be cheaper, but im not so sure that's the case after doing some research. The spokes could probably be replaced. Not sure how to tell. So here is the list of questions i have. Any help would be amazing, sorry if this sounds like babble, but im very excited.

-What wheels fit directly to this bike without any modification? (Don't have to be spoke)
-Is it possible to use the factory wheels i have and remove the tubes?
-I need a complete carb rebuild kit, with accelerator pump diaphragms (Having a really hard time finding that)
-Can fuel tanks be powder coated?

I am very very interested in turning this bike into a café racer. So any input in that direction would be very helpful. Also I would love to know the difference between the earlier 750's and this 78' cb750k.
Pictures will follow shortly.

No.

FTFY...
There's only one diaphragm, and it is located in the #2 carb. You're not looking very hard:

Everyone knows the 78 CB750K's were the fastest! :yikes:  :wink2:

There are plenty of carb kits out there, personally, I like the good stuff, but its very hard to find or pin down what the general consensus is on what kit is the best? as far as user friendly. Durability, cost efficient , so what's the best brand of kits that we use?
