I’m trying to check the resistance of the pulse gen at the connecter site and a there is some grease in here is this normal? And b I don’t know which wires to be checking together and for what measurement?

Any help is appreciated.

Looks like clear silicone grease. That's dielectric grease, and I use it frequently on my own machines. No issue whatsoever. It helps prevent corrosion of the terminals long-term by keeping moisture away.

The wire jackets are color-coded. You need to look up the test procedure in the factory service manual, as it tells you which wires to check and what the specifications are.

Thank you. I’m brand new to all of this. This manual almost has too much to read but learning a lot.

Hey you figure out how to test this yet? I have the same issue with my bike. Main fuse blows instantly once it touches power key on or not. I have disconnected everything and when I disconnect the pulse generator and it doesn’t blow.

Not sure what wires to check another forum said the two yellow ones, also not sure what the ohm reading should be.

Also very new to this planning on rewiring the whole bike with the m unit over the winter but want to be able to ride it the next few months.

Check your grounds, for one. Make sure both the wiring harness grounds to the frame are in good condition as well as the negative battery cable and the engine mount it connects to.

On your particular bike's wiring diagram, you will find where that pulse generator goes. Start testing individual wires in and out and see what you find. Look at the connectors too.
