Hi all,

I have a 1979 Cb750 question that I hope you can help with. I’m rebuilding the engine and I’m struggling with whether I need an extra o ring for the noz chain feed (the bit that squirts oil into the primary chain). It already has an o ring on either side of it but in all the rebuild videos on YouTube people talk about there being an o-ring that you need to remember to put back in.

I can’t see this referenced in the shop manual so I’m thinking it’s not needed.

Can anyone confirm whether you need an additional o ring for this?

If you do, does it go on top or below the chain feed?

Thank you in advance.

Andrew

Just to add more detail, this is the part that I’m talking about. It fits in between the primary drive chain. It is part 3 on the diagram. My question is whether it is just the 2 o rings needed? People keep saying there is a further o-ring that sits in between the two halves of the crank case…but I don’t understand where! Am I just getting confused?

So, I have answered my own question. The answer is there are only two o-rings.

I took apart my spare engine and carefully looked at the part.

Might be useful info for someone.
