Hi everyone,

I've been looking around for a project bike for a while now, and I finally found one that might fit the bill. It's a 1979 CB750 with an '83 motor in it. It's previously been customed, but has been sitting now for a year and a half. The clutch seems to pull fine but it wont shift, the chain is rusted to bits, the air filter pods definitely need to be changed, the carburetors need to be cleaned, the seat is pretty nasty, some of the lights are broken etc... I don't have a great feel for the condition of the actual motor... is it possible that i'll get away without any gnarly tinkering inside the head and transmission? The price is $300, and all I want is something to ride -- nothing too fancy.

SO, if anyone has any advise on what I'm getting myself into/how much I'll be spending that would be terrific!

thanks a ton
