I have a 1982 CB900FC and was wondering why the Gas Tank Rubber ( where the bolts down ) has a different part number for this Model compared to the the earlier CB900F's. the part number for mine is . 17613-MB7-670 and the earlier CB900 is 17613-438-000. Is it thicker to lift the Tank to help clear the Cylinder Head because of the rubber mounted Engine mybe sitting higher in the Chassis, any idea's .

Would be same thickness to match the back of tank to the seat. Maybe the bolt size changed or something slight like that. Seems like I've seen some rubbers that look like they are cut almost into 3 pieces what with all the relief they have to fit on tank lip quick and then there were others that were almost the same but not OEM cut as much.

Actual engine position in chassis is virtually the same on all of them, just everything else changes to meet the model change.
