Custom seat

Hi all, I heading towards the end of my first ever build (cafe racer from a 79 750 Limited Edition). It’s been a huge learning curve as I had zero mechanical skills/experience/tools a year ago.

Anyway, my fantastic wife has just made a custom seat for the bike. We bought a £20 eBay leather jacket, rebound foam and used an industrial sewing machine. We are super impressed with the result.

Like the rest of the build, it’s not perfect and when we do our next build we will do things differently. All in all, very happy with the build so far.

Sharing for inspiration for others.

I can use almost any tool with finesse, but a sewing machine, I cannot understand how they work. Nice job.

Thanks, I managed to pick up a Motad Neta 4 into 1 from eBay for less than £80. It’s from the 80’s and I think it was from a CB750/900 as an aftermarket part. It’s a bit functional but at some point I’ll want to chop it as it has a brushed steel end can which isn’t great looking!!
