Choke relief spring

I have cleaned the carbs on my 82 750 Classic and now I am putting them back together. I have been using one of the guide that was posted on this forum and for the most part it has been helpful. I have hit a road block. on the 1 and 2 Carb halve, I am installing the choke shaft and trying to install the choke spring for the choke mechanism. I have it on, but I can't seem to find how to reset the spring for the choke mechanism. I don't know where to hook the vertical and horizontal hooks that the spring has. The guide I am using explains it somewhat well but I would like to see a picture of it and the pics that it uses are not that helpful. FYI I am using the McGregor Carb cleaning Service guide that was posted on this site. Thanks for the help!!!
