CB 750 vs. CB 650

Hi,

I'm in the process of getting a CB 750 as a base for a café racer project. It's a bit hard to find where I live though, but a CB 650 is for sale and from the photos I've seen looks pretty promising. Very neat.

But what's the potential of the 650 as a base for a café racer? Would be interesting to hear your pro's (if any) and con's relative the CB 750! (e.g. I read that spare parts may be hard to find for the 650). Should I rather wait till I find a decent CB 750?

Next to nothing for performance parts for the 650. Tons more 750 on the road and ton more performance parts etc.

What DD said. And aftermarket bolt on parts are so much easier to find for the 750. If that's what you're after.

Yeah, probably some bolt on's...

How about performance? More torque in 750, but also a bit heavier. What does that sum up to relative the 650...?
