I like using a new sharp razor blade on aluminum to get gasket material off. If it is a new sharp one it is very easy to peal the gasket material off and you dont really scratch the surface if you take it slow. I dont like using big metal gasket scrapers because it is very easy to dent, ding and gouge the soft aluminum.
