Hello,
Bought my bike yesterday and am remaking it into a cafe racer with a mono shock , new subframe, and new tank.
I am making a thread mostly for the occasional assistance and then eventually to post parts I have and don't need for cheap.
I am looking at tanks and want one that fits with no alteration to the tank or frame, I can make new rubber dampeners for it to rest on the frame but would prefer to not have to chop up the tank to fit. I like the look and shape of the Benelli 260 tanks and believe that it would be wide enough to not look silly on the 1981 750's frame. I have heard that they can be a pain though to get fitted on the frame requiring a bit of modification.
What tanks have you used for your cafe build and what work well?
