Hello and 1982 Honda nighthawk cb750sc repair

Hey all,

First post, and brand new user. Looking to get a bike for the first time and a buddy of mine is selling a 1982 Honda nighthawk cb750sc. I dont know a ton about bike repair, but I have two coworkers that are incredibly experienced and willing to help me with repairs.

The owner is asking $250 for the whole bike, but it needs a new throttle assembly, seat, headlight, and a new wiring kit/rewire. Also, when I went to check it out, looked like there was a little rust on the chain and gear on the rear wheel.

Thoughts y'all? I've been googling some and it looks like there's plenty of parts, but I'd love a more experienced person to input.

Holy crap, Mods, I just realized I posted in the 1984+ thread. Would someone mind moving over to the right year?

Compression check, nobody ever sets the valves on them because you have to have shims to do it and the problems begin. Many if not most will have trouble with it.

Luck finding a SC seat, you don't find those just anywhere.
