Hi,
I'm in the process of getting a CB 750 as a base for a café racer project. It's a bit hard to find where I live though, but a CB 650 is for sale and from the photos I've seen looks pretty promising. Very neat.
But what's the potential of the 650 as a base for a café racer? Would be...
Just recently bought an 82 750k and I am also completely new to the motorcycle world , I was wondering if I need to overhaul my carbs to replace the air box with air pods?

There were at least a couple of setbacks that had me wanting to chuck this old bike. Now that it's finally done people walk up and ask questions more than 1/2 the time that I stop somewhere. Yesterday I stopped at a convenience store and when I came out 3 guys were standing around the bike...
Hi, all.
New to the group. My primary bike is an '02 Shadow Sabre. I'd been looking for a project bike for a little while, but everything was too expensive, too junked, etc... Lo and behold, a '78 CB750F pops up on Craigslist last week for a good price.
Runs great, all electric works...
i have found a cb750 for sale that looks like it would be a good work up few fixes and paint and cafe done. ive already worked out to get the bike from the guy but im super hesitant. i have a honda shadow that i cruise around and i want a cafe style too, is this going to be a good one to get it...
new to the dohc. trying to get it to start and was checking timeing. everything lines up when not turning but when i put a timing light to it the spark is happening about 90 degreas late. checked and reset the gap on the spark generators. checked the omhs reading on the coils and they are a...
II'm finishing up an '82 Maxim 650. Made a hardtail out of it. Solo seat, etc. Waiting on some jets to arrive. Running lean.
When the XJ is done, I'd like to get the Honda going. Last time I had it running I felt the clutch going out, and the timing chain sounded like it was slapping around...
Ok so here's the deal. My bike is running really rich, its carbon fouling spark plugs left and right (literally went through atleast 16 in the last 3 months trying to get it right.) I made sure the mixture screws were set according to the clymer manual, the diaphragms are in great shape and the...
Hey guys,
My name is Ben, I'm 18 years old and just graduated high school this past month. Alot of you have been extraordinarily influential in my first motorcycle build. I've been on this site hundreds of times getting help from all of you, and I figured I'd post the fruits of my (and your)...

Hey All,
I just bought my first motorcycle and its a 1980 CB750c. The very first thing I would like to do is replace the rear tail light / signal assembly with something sleek and cafe / street fighter looking. I also want sleeker front turn signals. Could you guys point me to some options...
Hey all! First of all, let me say that I DID search for this, and shockingly I couldn't find the info I need. So here I am asking. Be easy on me!
So I just bought a 73 CB750K, and am in the process of just updating things that I want to in order to make the bike perform as well as possible in...

Question for the forum:
I purchased what I thought was a 1976 CB750K last year and I am going to convert it to a cafe racer. After purchasing, I have found out that the engine is from a 1976 k, the frame is for a 1974. Given the frame and engine don't match, I have no idea what parts are for...
Hi guys, this is my first post in this forum but I use it regularly (only reading) till now...
I wanted to know your toughts on placing a radiator on my CB750F 76 and eliminating the oil tank. Kind of using the radiator as the oil tank. I know the oil tank removal has already been discussed...
I bought this bike a couple weeks ago and its currently down to nothing but a frame.
When I bought it you could tell it leaked oiled and I was told I should do a head gasket form the previous owner.
The PO gave me a new gasket set when I bought the bike so I figured it needed to...
Ok so here's the problem: I bought a wreck of a cb750 (1981) as a project café bike. cylinder block has 900cc on the casting near the base where the gasket to the crank case is. The guy I bought it off said that the 750cc crank case was interchangeable with the original 750cc cylinder block...
I am hoping some of you might review this bike, and give me your opinion. Are there any areas of concern? I plan to make a cafe racer out of it.

It came like this.
The whole bike looked like this.
Some wet/dry emery, steel wool, and elbow grease
and she looks like this.
Everything but the swingarm, engine, and oil tank came off
and the frame sprayed with engine enamel.
Cleaned and polished carbs, rebuild not needed yet.
Re-did...
Is it possible to drill out the Comstar wheel spokes and re-rivet them to a wider wheel? I am asking on the assumption that a Goldwing Comstar wheel is wider than the 2.15" wheel I have now. Since the Goldwing is shaft drive I just need the rim.
Hello all,
I have started a build project of cb750k 1981 DOHC. I'm trying to build a Cafe Racer for me. So I enjoy much in doing so. Mostly ...
I have a bit of a problem and I hope that some of you good people can help me.
I have started with rebuilding the carbs first. And as you can see in...
There's one nagging electrical thing having to do with the neutral (idiot) light which is stopping me from filling the oil and firing it up, because I don't know if I need to replace the sensor, which I think means draining the oil.
With the key on and everything else lighting up as it should...
Hey fellas
Just removed the carburetor for the first time ever in my life. That was fun, took a lot of elbow grease. It looks to be in good shape which is nice. The guy who sold it to me last summer said he had just cleaned the carbs, I guess he wasn't lying..
Anyways, what do I do here...
I picked up a 81 CB750 custom with keihin vb-34sc carbs. after about 30 min. of riding the idle jumped to 6k. After some tinkering we noticed that one of the lock bolts on a sync adjustment screw was stripped (I hope the phrasing is correct). We took the carbs out and replaced it. Once we got it...
New member to the forum, just getting started on a new project…. Recently aquired a 1978 Honda cb750k and began the process last Saturday.. Removed a bunch of weight and trying to decide how far we want to go with this one. It's my understanding in order to remove the valve cover you have to...
Recently finished up my 1980 cb750k overhaul. The stock bike just was looking pretty bad, and I decided to make her look like my first bike, a 1970 sl100. Still working a few bugs out on it, but its been fun remodeling it.
After an accident, which busted up the forks, swing arm and tank, I decided it was time to build her back up as a Cafe style. I painted her myself, added the Cafe seat, replaced all the suspension, exhaust wrap, etc.
