79' cb750 build in cold Sudbury

Hi Everyone, So this past summer I picked up a mostly complete 79 cb750 to build over the winter. This weekend I got to wheeling the bike into the shop and starting on it. So the plan is to build a pretty simple brat style bike with an emphasis on minimalism and reliability. So the plan will...

    Resurrecting a 79 CB750F SS

So my awesome uncle gave this to me. His son, my cousin, had it for a while. The plate tags on it now are from 2010. I got a set of keys made for it and hooked up one of my other bikes to it. The motor turned over but didn't start. I've ordered a battery for it. Here are some pictures. This is...

    Uncle gave me a 79 CB750F SS

Hello, My awesome uncle gave me a 79 750 SS. It's in pretty rough shape. I'm not sure if I'm going to do a full restoration or not. That can run into some money. First off I need to clean it up (my hillbilly cousin had it for a while) and get it running. I'm waiting on the keys (cousin still...

What Have I gotten Myself Into?

Found a good deal on a Copart auction. Never built a bike before, but have built several aircooled and watercooled VW's. 1978 CB750F it appears. I looked at some parts diagrams and it looks like I am missing the generator and cover (and several other pieces!).

Hi I was hoping maybe you could give me some tips or insight. I have a 1973 CB500 I rode it for the first summer I had it. It rode great except the rear springs had been cut so going over any bump would nearly break your back. The forks seals were leaking, and the triple tree clamp was...

    New ember new project

Hi new member. I have bought a 1981 CB750f, it has been stood in a garage for the last 20 years, I think it was last on the road in 1991. It's a long term project, to spread the cost. The engine covers have all been chromed at sometime but as you can see from photos it's long gone. I restored a...

    Cdi box compatibility

I recently established that my CDI boxes don't test equal. I ordered some from a local scrap yard but didn't specify the part number. When they arrived in the mail they tested equal although I'm getting little to no fire when trying to start. I'm curious if the MPS – 200 is the same part as MC –...

    Tank doesn't seem to fit

I just acquired a 1980 cb750K and the tank doesn't seem to fit. The two ears up front seem wider than the bushel no mounts slightly and the bolt down near seat is maybe two inches from the frame where it bolts down. Is this normal. ? The middle of tank is bottoming out on frame tube.
