the DVLA are an authority that won't listen depending on the person dealing with the case so i have been told. they refused to accept the certificate i sent from honda uk. because they had given it a 1982 { W } reg and would not recognise it was made in 1979. i didn't want the reg changing as...
that isn't an alloy ring it's a a hard steel ring, you won't get it off without making a mess, so just clean things up and re- grease , taper rollers are just a fashion those balls will be fine for what you need. .
mine had a badly cracked coil and melted cdi's and was bogging out so i replaced them , nothing changed, the problem stayed the same, found out the main jets were far too big than the ones it came out of the factory with and that was the problem.
Chudman1 glad you're back, i'm sorry i can't stop laughing but i bet you're ready for a break down. it starts and ticks over on full throttle ,? what's going on there then , are you sure they are opening up fully if so it should be hitting 1 zillion revs
i wish you all the best with your project, i bought mine that had been stood for 12years or so thinking a couple of weeks work would see it on the road. how wrong i was, it was imported from Japan in the 1990's and parked up in about 2010. the more i got into it the more i found the british...
i know it's not funny and i have had many niggly problems with mine and jumped in looking for answers before studying things myself, but these last few posts and how i have read them have cracked me up. " my mate knocked it off and broke it" love it i have mates like that!!:banghead: anyway...
Jacob2 leaving that cover off is exactly what i had to do when i put 102 main jets in the carbs because every book i had said that was the size, the only problem being my 750FZ was a Japanese market bike fitted with 75's from the factory and matched the air intake size at the back of the air...
there are some boots on ebay from china for about 20 aus$ for each one and free postage, don't know what they will be like though. i had loads of trouble getting both sets for my 1979 but luckily at great expense i got some from japan but that was 4 years ago
no mention of mine, as i say it was a jap domestic market bike imported to UK and try as i do can never find info on it except many parts on the bike are the same as the european cb900f. i have been told they based the jap market 1979 cb 750FZ which is mine on the european 900f the handle bars...
Chudman 1 i had problems when i rebuilt my carbs every book and other places i looked it said main jets 102, i thought someone i messed with my carbs and took out the 75's and fitted 102's when rebuilt it was choking the engine at 5000 revs and everything pointed to electrical problems [ melted...
yes the only manuals i have are clymer and haynes bodge book hence why i messed up putting 102 main jets in when they should be 75s , i wish i could get the book on the japanese domestic market 750 FZ,,,,,, anybody????????????
not being funny or clever but i have seen a lot about these bikes having there charging tested at above 3000rpm is there a reason for this because mine charges at a bit over 14v at just above 1500rpm perfectly and stays the same as the revs increase.
wahey i got the bolt out with this idea, copper pipe tapped in with hammer to stop the damper turning and it worked so well i might patent the idea. no damage done, i will use it again when tightening the bolt IF the damper wants to turn but i doubt it will , i think it only has a tendency to...
i want to change a fork seal and the bottom allen bolt just keeps spinning i can feel it with the brass rod, this must mean the damper rod is turning with it. any ideas how to stop this so i can get the allen bolt out
mrtwowheel i keep going for a 6th gear so i will work some ratios out , i just want to knock about 500 revs off at 60mph and stop going for another gear:rolleyes:
mrtwowheel great info on the sprockets , mine is a jap market 750fz based on the 900f euro and american model so i am told, something about them only having the 750 engine put in them back in the day in japan but based the 900 style?/? [ insurance purposes ]? anyway it has 530 chain and 18 44...
Biebs i bought a 12 year stood in england 750 fz and had all that trouble , the corrosion and galvanic reactions had killed off most things, absolute nightmare right down to a seized rear wheel spindle in the bearings
believe it or not my 750 fz wouldn't rev past 5000 when i followed the books available and took out the 75 main jets and fitted 102's . everything pointed to electrics with melted cdi's and a cracked coil. i replaced the lot and still the same until one day messing about i left the cover off the...
i am just wondering if any members of the forum have a 750fz , i would like to ask a few questions because the only info i can get is from the internet and one site says different to another, so it gets confusing
mr two wheel yes i had to take it off because the main jets were too big, it's a jdm 750fz and the only books i have on it are clymer and haynes which said 102 mains, so i fitted them and it bogged out at 5000rpm so i'm putting the 75's back in.
