    side covers

I gave up trying to get reasonably priced side covers for my 82 750C. I ended up getting sheets of black ABS plastic, cutting them with a dremel, and then using a heat gun to sort of mold them into place. I just cut a slit and used a velcro strap around the frame to hold them in place. Turned...

    82 750C Gauge Lights

Thanks for the confirmation. I'll check the wiring and the bulbs themselves next.

    82 750C Gauge Lights

All the fuses near the ignition checked out okay. The labeling did not indicate any of the fuses being for the speedo and tach lights. Anyone else have any ideas?

    82 750C Gauge Lights

According to the shop manual for the 750K there are lights on the speedo and tach. I'll check the fuses and report back.

    82 750C Gauge Lights

When I bought my 82 750C it never had lights to light up the dials on the speedometer and tachometer. The three lights in the center for high beams, neutral, and oil pressure all light up. My question is are there supposed to be lights on the speedo and tach? When I drive at night I have no idea...

Carbs bleeding fuel onto the floor...

A float may be stuck in the carbs. Usually that's the cause of excess fuel leaks.

Help please: Recently bought 78 won't start

Yeah if the spark plugs are really fouled you might as well replace them since it's usually pretty cheap for the basic copper plugs. I just recently bought an '82 750C that did run, but seemed like it lacked power and was sluggish. It's amazing what new spark plugs, new oil, clean chain, and a...

Help please: Recently bought 78 won't start

Usual suspect is a dirty carb and bad gas. I'd honestly drain all the gas and make sure new clean gas is in to begin with. I doubt it was running like a champ previously due to the black smoke and backfire. It should start up fine if it's only been sitting for 10 days. I second madmtnmotors...

Replacement Brake Lever - Nissin master cylinder

Success! The Ninja ZX-7 OEM adjustable lever works on the Nissin master cylinder I have on my '82 CB750C. Here's a link to the one I got: http://www.ebay.com/itm/251887037941

I'll give that a shot after I get some use out of this oil, thanks!

    grinding transmission in neutral

I just did a lot of maintenance stuff since it looked like the previous owner hadn't done it in awhile. I cleaned and lubed chain, changed oil and oil filter, new spark plugs, new air filter. Seemed to smooth out the engine overall, but the knocking noise is still there (no difference in it). I...

    grinding transmission in neutral

I suppose I'll just leave it alone then. Everything works fine--just a strange (to me at least) noise when I'm in neutral or pull in the clutch lever. The noise goes away when I'm in gear whether it's low or high RPM. This is my first bike so I suppose it's something I've got to get used to. Thanks

    grinding transmission in neutral

I have a very similar issue. While in neutral I hear a knocking/clatter. I don't notice any issues while in gear or while shifting. You mentioned it was the basket--what exactly? Was the gear loose?

Replacement Brake Lever - Nissin master cylinder

After some searching I read somewhere that the Nissin master cylinders use the ZX-7 stock adjustable lever so I order one off ebay for $14. I closely examined the pictures comparing to the broken lever I have and it looks like it'll work...I'll reply back once I receive it--maybe this will help...

Replacement Brake Lever - Nissin master cylinder

I recently purchased my first bike (82 CB750C) and doing a few minor cosmetic fixes. Both levers had the ends broken off so I ordered a set off ebay that was an OEM replacement. I got the clutch lever on just fine, but it appears that the brake master cylinder has been rebuilt. The replacement...
