Ok. I got it cranking. I had the wires all switched around. I took a meter and found out which wire has the hots etc....when you hook it up corr3ctly, the main fuse stays intacted. Who would have thought. Now it cranks hard like it should. So....new gas tomorow and gonna gI've it a turn. Thanks...

Ok. Here is an update. I got the starter solenoid. I plugged in the B and the M (not bowel movement either). I plugged in the wires and the main fuse was already there (30A). Hooked up the battery and pop, main fuse went...wth. I tried it again, pop....ok i take a step back. Brand new...

Quick question: I just picked up a 1981 honda cb750c. It has a 4-2 exhaust. Is this factory stock or aftermarket? I really don't want an aftermarket exhaust because of jetting issue. I want to get it running smoothly. It has the original airbox and carb (I think). Thanks! -Joe

To all: Does anyone take their bike to a detailing place that de-greases (like in Wisconsin there are PDQ's (Pretty darn quick)) the engine and cleans the entire bike? Does anyone does it their own? If you do, what environment friendly soaps do you use? Thanks! -Joe

No need to apologize. When I worked on those other bikes, I lucked out on all of them that the electrical was in tip top shape (total of 5 bikes). Electronics is pretty much a second language. I did not know how to short out a solenoid and I really appreciate the help! I can do mechanics fairly...

Yea I was sneaky.....Couldn't be sneaky about it. I just tried it with the key on the off position. The fuel tank is taken off of it. The tank needs to be emptied with the gas that's in it and then cleaned with CLR. The carbs will also need to be removed and thoroughly cleaned it sat for the...

Boom! It cranked. You weren't kidding about the sparks! July Fourth 101. I jumped the first time and I was wearing gloves (because safety is not a laughing matter). Does that mean the solenoid is bad since it cranked? Thanks tommycarl! -Joe

I will try that right now. So I hook up the battery then take a screwdriver and put them on the positive and negative leads (where the MAIN FUSE is located and hooked up to). If it cranks, the the solenoid is good. If I see smoke... then bad. Right?

tommycarl, I checked the mounts and they are hard mounted. No rubber insulators. I tried to replug in the connectors and still the same problem occurs. Just one click. The rubber insulator on the solenoid looks like it overheated and is melted. I don't know how to post pictures yet but I did...
