To Crack Open the Engine Case or Not??

Any info on where to get fresh tensioner sliders or whatever they're called? I had a few engines and used the best of what I had on my build but if anyone knows where to get these that's not astronomically priced that would be fantastic.

    pods on cv carbs

I'm running them. Idle is fine, midrange is shit, top end is fine. They definitely flat spot out the midrange but I haven't thrown the wideband on to see what it's done to the air/fuel ratios just yet.

    Rain riding and misfiring

Hi all - I finally got my bike back together and out for a couple of rides, and it's been running great, but on my second outing to work I got trapped downtown needed to ride home in heavy rain. First time rain riding and I made it just fine, but the bike had some issues! It was running great...

    1982 CB750 fairing

I ended up with the standard EMGO piece for $30, that was hard to pass up... I'll toss it on the bike soon and see if it does anything!

Fuses are by the gauge cluster. Two Phillips head screws, check those.

1978 CB750K front turn signal ideas?

I picked up some LED turns off of Aliexpress for $5 a pair... Just pick up an LED relay to go with them.

    1982 CB750 fairing

Hi all - looking for recommendations on a good travel fairing; I'd like to do a few highway trips and with no fairing / wind deflector at all I get thrown around a good bit. Definitely looking for something a bit more minimal - I don't mind some discomfort.

    Front fork seal blew

Darn, spoke too soon - it just started weeping again. I guess that means I need a new fork tube/tubes. I haven't come across any; are there good options for OEM replacements or is it worth looking at an upgrade - I hear the CBR600 front can be fitted? Anyone have more details on this?

    Front fork seal blew

Thanks, it's definitely softer than before (but quite rideable) and they are progressive springs. I used 6oz per side. Appreciate the advice about the fender too :) Do you know of a good fork tube brace?

    Front fork seal blew

Still curious about the first question - I pulled it apart today and rebuilt it, so I'll check it out tomorrow and see how well the rebuild went. Used Dexron ATF, and found there was a 3.75" PVC spacer in the top of each shock. The springs are out of spec at 19" length each, so it was probably...

    Front fork seal blew

So, I think I messed up the right front fork on my bike... 1982 CB 750 C. I pulled the fender off because it's quite beat up, but after riding around for a bit and doing a bit of riding on some rough roads I've gotten fluid leaking from the right dust cap and the front end is feeling pretty...

New to the forum, first bike

It looks like there's a Prelude buried in that garage somewhere? Seat looks very nice, x2 on where did you get the parts - and how do you like the café bars? Scary to lose the front indeed, amazing you stayed up! How did it happen?

    Valve adjustment

I'm slowly going through all the maintenance items the previous owner neglected on the car (mismatched spark plugs, maladjusted clutch, burned out bulbs all over, chain not tensioned, cam chain never adjusted, etc) and one of the most major items from my perspective would be a valve adjustment...

    Oil in distributor housing

I pulled the inspection cover to check & set the timing (which was way off) only to find a big puddle of oil in the bottom of the distributor housing. I'm guessing there's a major seal at the back of the housing? Any "gotchas" in removing the distributor I should be aware of? One more part to...

    Rounded oil filter bolt

Thanks again :) Do you figure the anti-drainback feature in modern filters could make a difference? It's somewhat disconcerting to see the oil light remain on for that second or two after starting.

    Rounded oil filter bolt

Thanks guys, I didn't even think of welding a nut on there as I've had such bad luck getting them to stick in the past, but it worked just fine now. Cover's off and filter is changed, much appreciated! Looks like Part # 15650-425-000 isn't available from servicehonda either, I did find this...

    Rounded oil filter bolt

So, I picked up my first bike - 1982 CB 750 Custom - and got it up, drained the oil, only to find that the oil filter assembly bolt is completely rounded off. It looks like the guy who owned it before me had the same problem, because I found an unused oil filter in the box of parts he gave me :P...

    Fork Oil

Interesting, I thought it had to be Dexron ATF or fork oil :) Almost chickened out of doing mine after seeing some write-ups including removing most of the bar assembly to get to the air fittings. Yikes. Yours doesn't have that air fitting?

    Fork Oil

What did you use for the fork oil? Wanting to do mine soon.
