Engine boring CB750 to 823 question

Called both, and both are reasonable pricing (actually better than my local). Both seemed to know what they were talking about too and had good reviews. Think i'll go with Cycle X as it's physically closer and Ken stated he could have a quick turnaround once I send it to him. Thanks for the...

Engine boring CB750 to 823 question

Really appreciate the help. Any preference you have, one over the other? I'm in PA so I'd have to ship it to either option. APE looks a little more expensive than my local automotive machining shop but if the job is done better I am ok with it.

Engine boring CB750 to 823 question

Thanks for the response! I have a place somewhat near me who was recommended by another mechanic (originally recommended to me and who bores cylinders but typically only cars). I spoke to the guy and he seemed to know what he was talking about, and they specialize in automotive machining. I...

Engine boring CB750 to 823 question

Hi Guys, I'm bring my 1980 CB750C from 62mm to 65mm for the Wiseco 823cc piston kit. I'm curious though, what's the most the stock cylinders can be bored out? Will the cylinders become unstable sooner now because I am widening them each by 3mm? thanks!

    CB900 parts in a CB750

Hi Guys (re-posted here instead of Garage) I have a 1980 CB750C I am rebuilding, and while I have the engine open I am curious if it's possible to increase the stroke by using the crankshaft from a cb900f engine. If so, are there any additional parts I would need to make that work? I am boring...

1980 CB 750C front wheel hub removal

Never mind I figured it out. Axle was stuck from being outside for 18 years. Had to ruin it to get it off though.

1980 CB 750C front wheel hub removal

I'm trying to remove my front hub so i can replace the wheel bearing and powder coat the rims. My manual doesn't go into detail on how to do this and it seems the bolt is very tight. My manual says remove the axle nut and spacer and then remove the axle from the other side along with the...

Has anyone used Keihlin CR29s on an otherwise stock CB750c - 1980?

I spoke to him briefly via email and I planned on using that site. How do the 31s differ from the 29s? Is it a difference of low-end VS high-end? He mentioned that my engine would run cooler and I'd have smoother throttle control, which is great, but do you think the gas mileage will change...

Has anyone used Keihlin CR29s on an otherwise stock CB750c - 1980?

I have a 100% stock 1980 CB750c that I've been working on and off for the past 6 months. The carburetors are seeming to be a lot of work for me and I think I'd rather buy the Keihlin CR29s and straight out replace them. I also like the fact that with these I could eliminate the air box and...

Any good chain and sprocket kits for 1980 CB750c?

What's the difference between X and O ring. Do they require tools to attach?

Any good chain and sprocket kits for 1980 CB750c?

I'm looking for an affordable but still durable chain and sprocket kit for my 1980 CB750c. I believe the specs needed are: 18T front, 43T Rear, 530 and 106 link chain. even if you know a decent sprocket kit and chain separate that's fine. Was just looking for something totally around $200 if...

Looking for a wiring harness, need help!

Very good information, thanks! My brother is handier than I am, but his schedule is more hectic than mine these days, so I'm doing everything myself. It's a great learning experience and a lot of fun, but it's taking a while.

Looking for a wiring harness, need help!

Thanks! I'm hoping that the original wires work without having to replace them, but I'm not sure if that's safe to do since the bike sat outside for several years. I'm thinking maybe some of the wires corroded. If rewiring is something I can do using this diagram then maybe I'll give it a...

Looking for a wiring harness, need help!

I'm looking for a wiring harness for my 1980 CB750C. Vintagecb750.com has them but no for my exact model (1980 CB750K and F only). I would think that they should be able to be used for the C model as well, but there is a specific message that says "NOTE: These fit model years and type listed...

I have a 1980 CB750C Custom that hasn't run since 1998. Need help on where to start.

So I'm guessing that once I remove the carbs I'll be able to see the piston or something and then see if it moves how it should be? Also, I put in an order for an ultrasonic cleaner. Did some research and it looks like they're a very good method of cleaning carbs. This is the one I got...

I have a 1980 CB750C Custom that hasn't run since 1998. Need help on where to start.

Ok cool, i'll try that first. The tank was never opened during the years it sat but the gas was left in there and eventually leaked out through a fuel line. I guess it's likely the rust looking stuff can be varnish and residue. I hope.

I have a 1980 CB750C Custom that hasn't run since 1998. Need help on where to start.

Will acetone damage the metal in the tank that isn't rusty looking? I just don't want to weaken it or anything. Curious.

I have a 1980 CB750C Custom that hasn't run since 1998. Need help on where to start.

Thanks a lot, I was definitively looking into getting the Clymer manual on eBay. What does the engine being free or kicking over mean exactly? Yea, I feel terrible that such a low mileage bike was given to me in such good shape and I let it go a little. I was in 2nd or 3rd grade back then...

I have a 1980 CB750C Custom that hasn't run since 1998. Need help on where to start.

Hello, I'm new to this forum and am looking to get my CB750C in working order. The bike was given to my dad in 1997 in perfect physical and running condition. I'm sad to say that after a few months he never rode it again and said it would be mine when I was old enough to ride. It was never...
