    77 stock needle clip position

Hi gurus. I have a 77 police model - CB750P7. The carbs are PD41As and the stock main jet size was 115. Can anybody tell me where the needle clip should be set for stock please? Nothing in the manuals is conclusive. I'm certain the carbs had never been apart until I rebuilt them and the clips...

    Friction disc grooves

I've got a new set of discs to install (ex-UK) and see some differences to what I removed. The outer disc (B?) has the angled grooves and that is the same as my original and is what the manual shows. However the other six discs also have the angled grooves whereas the originals have the straight...

What sort of clutch mod is this?

The clutch in my 78 police model does not match any that I can find in any manual. It has seven friction plates and six drive plates. All good so far, but one of the metal plates (third from inner) is made of two riveted together with some other material in between. It is 5mm thick. See photo...

Cylinder and head fin rubber inserts

My engine currently undergoing rebuild has most of these rubber inserts missing. I looked at the cost of replacements and after I picked myself up off the floor, decided not to worry about them. However I'm now curious why they are there - was it to stop some vibration that might ultimately...

Wiseco 836 kit - head gasket dilemma

First post for some time but I am now back to putting my K7 engine together. It has a Wiseco 836ccc kit and I have a question regarding the head gasket and the existing oil seals for the oil return from the head. There are eight of these seals which are fitted to steel tubes (the manual calls...

Removing float valve seat on a K7 carb

Hi. I've got a K7 with Keihin PD41 carbs. The float valves are all leaking very slightly, but it's not from the valve seat, it's around the outside of the valve where it fits into the body. I've taken the carbs off and can see a slight weep around the outside. I can't see replacement assemblies...

    Crankcase bolt torque

I'm about to put the cases from my K7 engine back together but can't find the torque for the smaller bolts. The manual shows the ten larger bolts that straddle the crank at 16.6-18.1 ft-lbs, but there is nothing stated for the other, smaller lower and upper case bolts. Can anybody advise please? g

    Crank bearing size question

Hi. I am replacing the crank main bearings in a K7. They aren't badly worn but while it's apart I figure it can't hurt. I have not measured anything so was just going to replace with original sizes. Is that a reasonable thing to do? Can someone also confirm if I have interpreted the manual...

    Wiseco 836 kit questions

Hi. I'm looking at fitting Wiseco pistons to turn my K7 into an 836. With the extra ponies and higher compression, should I be upgrading the head studs, or at least renewing the originals? Also, I have #115 main jets - do you think these will need to be larger and are there any other changes...

What usually needs doing in an engine rebuild...apart from the obvious

Hi all. I've stripped down the engine in my 1977 model. It's actually a P7 police model but basically no different in the engine department. It was a runner but not very well, probably only due to carbs I think. The only other thing I noted was a very clunky gearbox when putting it into gear...

Oil hole in fork tube bottom

Hi.. First post as new member; thanks for having me on the site. I have a 1977 local police model in restoration. It's basically a K7 and has exposed forks as per that model. I had the fork tubes hard chromed and realised I did not check the size of the small oil transfer hole through the tube...
