Very interesting read. I will be curious to see how you make out with the off brand 836 kit. I've been kicking the same idea around for my 73 when I finally get sick of kicking past second. It's really my fault for banging it so hard 30 years ago when I was sneaking it out of my Dad's garage...

    Let's see your CB750

They look great Steve! I'm working on my 71 also. Not spending much $ yet just took it all apart, cleaned it, made it work and put it back together. I'm to the point of re-sealing the tank and new tires. Should have it on the road this summer.

If I baked bike parts in my wife's Jenn-Air, her bike or not I would most likely need a new wife.:cussing: Learned my lesson baking radio control airplane cylinders one night.

Great looking 70s era skoot! I think it looks super just like it is, maybe a seat upgrade. I love the fairing.

    Let's see your CB750

Pretty cool to ride your Dad's bike. I have fond memories of riding on the back of my 73 with my Dad doing the driving. When I got it running again after languishing for 30 years, my wife came down to the shop and said "that's ridiculous!", it's got pretty loud pipes:cool: I gave the stern...

    78 750 F lives again

I kinda think the purple and 80s flames are cool. Little rubbing comp to make it shine and ride the thing!

    Disfunctional Turn Signals

K2 is correct also. It has been my experience that a good old cleaning of contact surfaces (including cleaning my winker, which worked great:cool:) solves most electrical woes on these guys.

    Disfunctional Turn Signals

If you have a friend with a CB, ask if you can borrow his winker cube:devil: and replace it with a known good one for a quick check. "Hey buddy can I borrow your winker?" Sounds pretty funny:wink2:

    Disfunctional Turn Signals

I was thinking the same thing about revving it just a bit. Nothing crazy. If you can't find a winker relay it might just be a little crud on the spring steel strip. I was able to get one back to working condition by removing the little bit of rust on it.

Yep, fixing a freebie is always cool. I was busting on you...for obvious reasons. in one of the other bike forums I am on there is a guy with a signature that says "Skooters and Pacific Coasts are for guys who like the wing blowing on their vag." I thought it was pretty funny.

1974 CB750K Part it or fix it?

Running with title in rough condition around $5-800. No title not running less than $500 in my area. Your first hurdle in getting it running other than gunkked carbies is most likely a rusty tank.

That second gear issue is a biggie. My 73 has a bent fork. I've put it off for a long time shifting to third. I'm not looking forward to the rebuild. Glad to hear you got some road time on the project.
