    1979 CB750F not charging

Update: So, I applied power to the brushes (black and white wires) via a direct connection to the battery. When I start the bike it produces 20-30 volts AC at 3k rpms from any 2 of the 3 yellow leads. That leads me to believe that the stator is good and the rotor and R/R are bad. Would you...

    1979 CB750F not charging

I went back and started from the beginning. The spec for the Ohms on the slip ring is 3.6-4.4 ohms. Mine reads 2.7. So, I'm guessing that the resistance is too low causing the rotor to short out and prevent it from creating a magnetic field which in turn would send AC voltage out from the...

    1979 CB750F not charging

Hello all, So, I've been working on this for the past few day and I'm stumped. I disconnected the stator wires from where they go into the R/R. With the 3 yellow wires I got 0 voltage with the engine running. Also I could not detect any magnetism from the rotor with the engine running. Would...

    Ebay rebuild kit....some differences

That's a good point. Swap the bad screw with a known good one and see if that same bowl still leaks.

    Ebay rebuild kit....some differences

Yes, that makes sense. That's the way the drain screw works. Think of it as a valve. You need to replace that drain screw. Did you test all of them?

Are your carbs apart? If so, put the screw into the bowl, fill the bowl with water. I have a couple of old screws in good condition. Let me know if you want one. Al

    1980 CB750k Delkevic Exhaust

I really don't know. I would imagine that more packing would make it quieter and perhaps reduce flow. Try Youtube.

By the pictures on the web site it looks like it can be taken apart, right? Why not wrap some 4 stroke muffler packing around the internal baffle...

Subjective question about pricing a SOHC CB750 late 70s

Remember though, Search Tempest is for Craigslist. A lot of folks won't deal with you when you talk about shipping. You can expand your search area on Ebay though. Since there are some forms of buyer protection there, that's probably the way to go. Good luck, Al
